Tranmere boss Ronnie Moore has revealed his frustration at not being able to add to his depleted squad ahead of Friday's clash with Port Vale.

The Rovers manager will be without injured strikers Gareth Taylor and Calvin Zola, but he has been thwarted in his attempts to bolster the ranks despite contacting every club in the top two divisions.

Defender Ian Goodison is also a doubt for the game at Prenton Park after missing training during the week.

"We've circulated a release to all the Premiership and Championship clubs but we've had no luck," admitted Moore.

"It's just a shame that if Chris Greenacre and Steve Davies aren't doing it, there's nothing on the bench to change it."
