Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has not given up hope of sneaking into the League One play-offs.
Leeds United's 1-0 defeat at Huddersfield Town on Tuesday leaves Rovers five points behind Gary McAllister's side with three matches of the season left.
Moore said: "The door's still open and not just for us. Brighton, Walsall and Oldham think they'll have a chance too. The players know it's not over yet.
"I think there are lots of positive things to come out of this season, more good than bad.
"I told the players that if they could play as they did against Forest during most of the season, then we'd not be worrying about reaching the play-offs.
"I don't think people should start moaning and groaning. There's enough in the side, with two or three more players added in the summer, to give us a good chance whichever division we're in next season."
