Parry happy with Rovers return

The hosts created the better chances in a scrappy encounter but Rovers held firm to claim a valuable share of the spoils. Parry said: "I would have loved to win but if we had taken nothing from the game we would have been seven points adrift of Oldham. "The number one priority had to be that we did not get beaten. I know that sounds negative but that's the way it is, I'm afraid, because we could not afford to lose. "It's vital to take points against the teams around you and we showed some good defending to get in a few important blocks. The quality of the game was not good and you could see both sides had not played for a while. "At times it was mistake after mistake after mistake but we have come away with a point and a clean sheet. I was disappointed with the second-half because at half-time we said we would win if we kept playing to the same standard. Our fans were shouting for me to make changes in the second-half but we would have taken a 0-0 draw beforehand."
