Parry handed transfer boost

Tranmere Rovers manager Les Parry is delighted to have been given a small amount of money to try and bring in a loan player to bolster his Prenton Park squad.

Parry had feared that he would have to move players on to be able to make a new signing and is happy with the improved situation at Rovers.

He told the Wirral News: "We had a meeting with the chairman and the rest of the directors and they were able to identify a couple of bob for us to go out and sign a player without anyone going out of the squad first of all.

"It's not a great deal of money and we are going to have to be careful we get the right person in.

"But at least we are not now waiting on telephone calls from other clubs to take some of our players before we can bring people in."
