Parry deflated by defeat

Tranmere manager Les Parry was heartbroken after his side were forced to settle for a point in a 1-1 draw at home to Rochdale.A fourth-minute goal from Lateef Elford-Alliyu should have proved enough for a sixth home success for Rovers, but they lost concentration in the fifth minute of injury time to allow Gary Jones to snatch a point for Dale.Parry said: "It was heartbreaking to concede so late. We played the best football all season in the first half and we could easily have been several goals to the good. We dropped off in the closing stages and it cost us. I was screaming for the players to get forward."I couldn`t fault their effort and we`ve got to take some positives from the display even though we were denied victory."We contained them very well for much of the 90 minutes but they sneaked a fluky goal at the death to get a point. It was a great early goal for us and would have been worthy of winning the match."
