Parry: Rovers win much deserved

Published: 20 Dec 2009 - 10:54:30

Goals from Craig Curran and Gareth Edds saw Rovers ease to a fifth home victory to boost their hopes of pulling away from the relegation zone. Parry, who was appointed to the role in midweek after a spell in caretaker charge, said: "It was a great result and it was thoroughly deserved. But I must admit I was more nervous than when I held the caretaker role. "We did well in the first half and it would have been a travesty had we not gone in ahead. "We got our second goal somewhat against the run of play and were then really unfortunate not to go on to increase the margin. "There was a tremendous work-rate from the lads. It was just brilliant. It was a good way to start the Christmas period and we must go on from here. We proved we are capable of beating anyone in the division."
