Tranmere Rovers have handed youth team goalkeeper Philip Palethorpe a three-year professional contract.
The youngster started training at Prenton Park as an 11-year-old and with him now having made 12 reserve team appearances the club decided to reward his progress with the deal on his 17th birthday.
Rovers boss Ray Mathias told the club's official website: "Philip has shown excellent progress over the last few years and fully deserves this contract.
"His attitude and commitment are first class and he has a great career ahead of him."
