Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has admitted that finances are thwarting his efforts to bring in a quality wide player to boost his Prenton Park squad.
Moore is keen to bring in some new faces to keep his side in the play-off hunt, but the former Rotherham United manager is finding it tough to secure his top targets.
Moore told the Daily Post: "The availability of senior players is very limited to us.
"For instance, we enquired about Steve Jones at Burnley and Stuart Elliott at Hull, who are experienced players on very big money.
"There's no chance of those clubs giving us some help in meeting their wages, so we can't do it. That's what happens when you're in League One, not the Championship."
