Moore rages at Rovers

Tranmere manager Ronnie Moore laid into his players after Rovers slumped to a 2-1 defeat at rock-bottom Rotherham United on Tuesday.

The loss was particularly painful for Moore as it was against his former club, but it was his current side's lacklustre display that hurt him most.

"It's a massive disappointment, but if we perform like we did in the first half here we aren't going to win anywhere," he said.

"We were outfought and we were very fortunate we weren't two or three down at half-time.

"We huffed and puffed in the second half, but didn't create anything and never asked their keeper to make a save.

"You cannot give the goals away like we did. We've defended really well this season up to now, but we looked a very naive and inexperienced side in the first half hour."
