Moore feels relief at Rovers draw

Published: 26 Apr 2009 - 13:32:04

It needed a wonder strike by skipper Antony Kay in the 78th minute to give them a share of the spoils with a 1-1 draw at Prenton Park. Tranmere now know that a win at Scunthorpe next Saturday will secure their place in the top six. "We never got going. I can't really put my finger on it as to why but possibly it was down to nerves," Moore admitted. "We were not positive enough. We had just one real shot in the first half. We tried to lift the tempo in the second period but never really improved. I was just so pleased to get that goal with a wonderful strike from Kay. At 1-0 down we were snookered. "There were a lot of tired legs and tired minds out there but I cannot criticise the players at the end of a long campaign. We could easily have lost but we have given ourselves a chance."
