Moore blasts referee Gibbs
18 Feb 2009 - 17:18:51
Tranmere Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has laid into Phil Gibbs after the Birmingham-based referee turned down a penalty and disallowed a goal in the 1-1 draw with Peterborough.
The 42-year-old waived away protests for a handball by Dean Keates in the United box before minutes later ruling a Bas Savage goal out for handball.
Moore had no doubt about the decisions, telling BBC Radio Merseyside: "It was a stonewall penalty."
"He (Gibbs) disallows the goal, which I find astounding. He bottled it, he got all the big decisions wrong."
A win would have moved Rovers into the play-off places while the Posh would have dropped to fourth in the League One table.
