Moore aims fire at Sherriff

09 January 2008 10:43
Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore says he will fine defender Shane Sherriff for being sent off in the 3-0 defeat at Leyton Orient. Sheriff was dismissed early in the second half at Brisbane Road for a second caution, having been warned to watch his step by Moore at half-time. "There was nothing in the game when the sending-off happened," Moore told the Daily Post. "We were one down from a goal we should have stopped, but we had been putting Orient under pressure in the first half. "Shane had one booking to his name and we told him at half-time to be careful and disciplined. "Within five minutes he made an unnecessary challenge and got the second yellow. He will be fined for that. "It's hard to chase the game when you are a man short and we've had to do that in the last two league games. Tired legs take their toll."
