Jennings earns Moore praise

Tranmere midfielder Steve Jennings has won praise from manager Ronnie Moore for forcing his way into the Rovers first-team this season.

The 22-year-old spent three months on loan at Hereford United last term, but impressed on his return to Prenton Park

Moore told the Daily Post: "Steve Jennings has gone in there and grabbed his chance.

"He is in the side on merit. It's not as if he is there because of injuries to other people. He is there because when he got his opportunity he took it.

"He is a local lad and the supporters like what he is about, his energy and getting stuck in. He gives Paul McLaren the freedom to get on the ball and pass it."
