Greenacre told to gamble

Tranmere Rovers manager Ronnie Moore has called on striker Chris Greenacre to start gambling in a bid to end a mini goal drought.

Greenacre has netted 12 times for Rovers this season, but has failed to find the net in his last seven games - a run that has seen Moore's side slip to ninth place in the League One table.

Moore told the Daily Post: "If I am Chris Greenacre playing alongside Gareth Taylor up-front, I should be gambling on Gareth winning every ball that is played up to him.

"You lose nothing if he doesn't, but you know Gareth is going to win a fair amount of those balls and you want Chris to be in position to take advantage.

"If Chris is waiting to see if Gareth wins the ball, then it is too late because he is on his heels and the ball is running through to the keeper."
