Tranmere Rovers winger Kevin Ellison could miss this weekend's top of the table clash against Nottingham Forest after being forced to see an eye-specialist.

The 27-year-old former Hull City star was poked in the eye by team-mate Calvin Zola as the duo celebrated the first goal in Saturday's win at Northampton Town.

"Kevin Ellison has gone to see an eye-specialist which will teach him to celebrate goals with high fives," Rovers boss Ronnie Moore told the club's official website.

"There's some time for him to get better but it's not looking too promising at the moment."
