Broomes sits out Shakers cup clash

Published: 05 Oct 2009 - 15:11:48

Rovers were thumped 5-0 at Millwall on Saturday and their eighth League One defeat of the season has left Barnes under mounting pressure. The defeat saw experienced centre-back Broomes sent off for two bookable offences and he now serves a one-match ban. Youngster Ash Taylor is poised to deputise at Gigg Lane while Alan Mahon and Craig Curran could also earn starting berths as Barnes considers ringing the changes. Rovers shipped four goals in the opening 27 minutes at Millwall and assistant manager Jason McAteer said: "The priority now is to win at Bury and that's what the lads will be trying to do, irrespective of what competition we are playing in."
