Barnes starts with Glovers trip

Barnes, who was appointed at Prenton Park this week following the sacking of Ronnie Moore, will hope to make a winning start before successive home games against Gillingham and MK Dons respectively on August 15 and 18. A busy opening month is completed with a trip to fallen giants Leeds and another home showdown against newly-relegated Charlton. Rovers travel to north-west rivals Oldham on Boxing Day before hosting Carlisle at Prenton Park two days later. Leeds visit Merseyside on January 2 before Barnes' men end their campaign with a home clash against Millwall on May 1 and a final-day trip to Stockport the following week.
