Tranmere Rovers have signed West Bromwich Albion goalkeeper Luke Daniels on a season-long loan deal. The 21-year-old moves to Prenton Park with an option of staying a further season as his first team opportunities at The Hawthorns are thought to be limited. Daniels made 38 appearances while on loan with Shrewsbury Town last season, helping them to reach the League Two play-off final. The former Manchester United shot stopper also had a spell with Scottish Premier League side Motherwell, making two appearances. New Tranmere boss John Barnes said: "He had a very impressive season at Shrewsbury and has a good future ahead of him. "I'd like to thank West Brom manager Roberto Di Matteo for allowing Luke to join us on loan."
