Defensive worries for Moore

Ronnie Moore will deal with yet another defensive dilemma for Tranmere's home Sky Bet League One clash with Wolves.

The Rovers boss has had to deal with multiple injuries and suspensions throughout this campaign and is likely to be without Liam Ridehalgh, Danny Holmes and Jon Otsemobor at Prenton Park.

Ridehalgh's loan deal from Huddersfield has expired with Moore ready to admit to defeat on any potential extension, Holmes came off injured in the defeat to Sheffield United and could miss three weeks with an abductor strain and Otsemobor has been ruled out with a back strain.

Jim McNulty, another on-loan defender, missed out in South Yorkshire due to illness while Ian Goodison is still absent because of a thigh strain so Tom Hateley may be recalled to the back four. Elsewhere, captain James Wallace is expected to return following a head injury.

Wolves will be without Jack Price after the midfielder was ruled out for four weeks with a knee injury.

Price was forced off at half-time in Sunday's top of the table 1-1 draw with Leyton Orient at Molineux and will now sit on the sidelines for around a month.

Full-back Scott Golbourne was only deemed fit enough for a place on the bench due to a dead leg at the weekend but will be hoping to take to the field at Prenton Park.

Strikers Leigh Griffiths and Kevin Doyle will again be hoping to force their way back into Kenny Jackett's line-up having both started on the bench of late.
