Moore with more injury problems

Ronnie Moore must assess a trio of injury concerns ahead of Tranmere's home game against MK Dons.

Adam McGurk was Rovers' match-winner against Oldham last weekend but a medial ligament injury caused him to miss Tuesday night's FA Cup triumph at Braintree, where fellow winger Joe Thompson picked up a thigh complaint and defender Ash Taylor went down with a hamstring problem.

"Ash, we don't really know," Moore told his club's official website. "We'll probably find out on Thursday afternoon.

"Adam has a medial ligament problem and again, we don't know if he'll be fit. It's going to be sore for a few weeks, it's just whether he's got the grit and determination to play with it if it's not too sore.

"Joe is the same. We don't know how severe it is but we think he's done one or two fibres in his thigh. If he has that's one or two weeks for him."

Top scorer Jake Cassidy and midfielder Liam Palmer are available once more after their respective loan deals from Wolves and Sheffield Wednesday ruled them out of cup action, while Abdulai Bell-Baggie (knee) and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro (broken metatarsal) remain sidelined.

Luke Chadwick, Jon Otsemobor and Darren Potter should all return to the MK Dons squad.

Chadwick missed the FA Cup first-round replay against Cambridge City on Tuesday night through suspension, while fellow midfielder Potter and full-back Otsemobor were rested against the non-league side.

Youth-team players Dele Ali, who earned rave reviews from manager Karl Robinson following his goalscoring performance in midweek, Georgio Rasulo, Brendon Galloway and Mason Spence were all included on the bench in the cup but are unlikely to feature this time round due to their involvement in the FA Youth Cup on Saturday.

Defender Adam Chicken, also on the scoresheet against Cambridge City, and the versatile Alan Smith, join Chadwick, Otsemobor and Potter in the push for recalls to Robinson's starting line-up.
