Tranmere new boys in contention for debuts

Tranmere have made a trio of new signings ahead of the home clash with Walsall and all three could be handed debuts. Defender Mark McChrystal has joined from hometown club Derry City where he has spent the last three seasons.

Rovers have also completed the one-month loan signing of Sunderland defender Michael Kay and veteran goalkeeper Tony Warner has signed until the end of the season. Warner looks set to line up between the post after on-loan stopper Gunnar Nielsen returned to Manchester City.

In another boost, Rovers have agreed a deal to keep on-loan West Brom striker Lateef Elford-Alliyu for another month Defender Marlon Broomes serves the second match of a three-game ban following his dismissal in the defeat at Rochdale last weekend.
