Saddlers seal thrilling draw League One basement side Walsall staged a great fightback to earn a 3-3 draw with Tranmere at Prenton Park The found themselves 3-1 behind after 56 minutes but two late efforts earned them a point in their first game under caretaker boss Dean Smith. Walsall went ahead with 32 minutes gone when Paul Marshall's corner was cleared into the path of Matthew Richards who lashed the ball in from the edge of the box. The home side responded well and were back on level terms seven minutes later. Richards and Enoch Showunmi challenged following a Joss Labadie cross and the ball deflected off Richards past stranded keeper David Bevan into the corner for an own goal. Tranmere completed the turnaround and went in front in first-half injury-time through a 20-yard free-kick from Aaron Cresswell. Showunmi made a hash of a great chance soon after the break before David Bevan produced a terrific save to deny Labadie. Tranmere did make it 3-1 in the 56th minutes when Lateef Elford-Alliyu fired home from a Dale Jennings cross with Walsall skipper Andy Butler lying injured. The visitors pulled a goal back six minutes from time with a Jon Macken shot finding it's way in off defender Ash Taylor. Then in the fourth minute of added time Butler headed in from Macken's cross to snatch a point for the Saddlers.
