Rovers curry favour with Parry

Tranmere manager Les Parry found the perfect way of celebrating Tranmere's first away win of the season - with a chicken curry. Dale Jennings found the roof of the net with a blistering left-footed shot from 20 yards in first-half stoppage time to condemn Bristol Rovers to a 1-0 defeat and leave Parry with a taste of success. Parry said: "It's waiting for me on the team coach in the microwave and I'm certainly going to enjoy the trip home. This result will give us a big lift. We've had a tough start to the season, always seeming to come up against teams in good form. "That applied to Bristol Rovers and it also applies to Brighton in our next game. If we don't reproduce the same level of performance they are capable of murdering us. "League One is such a competitive division this season that a couple of wins on the trot can take you up several places, while a couple of defeats have you struggling. "You certainly can't afford to lose three in succession and a lot of people were expecting us to do that. The lads worked really hard to make sure it didn't happen."
