Parry waits on pair

Tranmere boss Les Parry hopes to have striker Enoch Showunmi and defender Aaron Cresswell available for the Johnstone's Paint Trophy Northern Section Second Round match at home to Stockport. Showunmi had to have a painkilling injection for a shoulder injury to make the weekend game with Walsall but then suffered a knock to his ankle and calf in the early stages of the 4-1 win and remains a doubt. Cresswell is also struggling with a knock picked up in the Saddlers match. He was a the victim of a heavy challenge by Steve Jones in the first-half that resulted in Jones being booked but he carried on before limping off with 20 minutes to go. The pair were rested by Parry from training on Sunday and Monday in a bid to have them fully-fit to face County. Parry has vowed to field his strongest side but it remains to be seen whether Ian Thomas-Moore begins the game. The striker's start on Saturday was his first since mid-September and the Rovers manager may wish to rest the forward ahead of the important home game with MK Dons on Saturday. Tranmere are fortunate to be still in the competition after they lost to Accrington in the first round on penalties, and were granted a reprieve after Stanley pleaded guilty to fielding a suspended player in the encounter and agreed to withdraw from the tournament.
