Parry upbeat despite defeat

Tranmere manager Les Parry felt his side were unlucky to lose against Leyton Orient. The Os went ahead in the 10th minute when skipper Stephen Dawson fired into the top-right corner after Rovers failed to clear the ball properly. Then in first-half stoppage time Orient doubled their lead when Scott McGleish found the back of the net. Scott Wootton pulled a goal back for Tranmere but Orient held off a spirited comeback. "Their keeper was inspirational. Some of the saves he made were absolutely fantastic," said Slade. "It was just not our day. We hit the crossbar and had a couple of decent appeals for penalties which were not given. "Despite the result we can certainly take some positives from the game. We thought we were unfortunate to be two goals down at half-time and felt the game was still there to be won. But we did not take our chances - that is the bottom line. "Obviously we had a mountain to climb after conceding two bad goals. I thought we created enough chances but all credit to Orient. They defended well and their manager will be made up by their performance. Full marks to them but it was certainly very frustrating for us. We did not deserve to lose."
