Tranmere boss Les Parry remains keen to bolster his squad with a new midfielder before the transfer window closes. Rovers are again embroiled in a relegation dogfight and lie just one place above the npower League One drop zone. Parry has also revealed that defender Marlon Broomes has handed in a transfer request. He told Tranmere Player: "We're still looking to bring this elusive midfielder in. We've got a lad who's over for a week from Ireland with us. He'll be training with us all week and we'll have a little look at him. "And we're also talking to a couple of players who have been released in January as well. So hopefully we'll get something done if not this week, certainly the beginning of next week." On Broomes, Parry added: "He wants to secure a longer contract before the end of the season because he doesn't want to be looking for a club and trialling at clubs."
