Tranmere boss Les Parry was pleased to secure his first win in four matches as Carlisle were beaten 2-1 at Prenton Park. Peter Murphy blasted a 17th-minute penalty over the crossbar before Rovers went ahead against the run of play through Ian Goodison. Tranmere then missed a spot-kick when Ian Thomas-Moore`s effort was saved by Adam Collin. Another penalty followed for Rovers in the 69th minute. This time Aaron Cresswell stepped up but again Collin made an excellent diving save. Berrett levelled things up after 78 minutes with a neat 12-yard finish but Tranmere edged ahead again two minutes later as Thomas-Moore made up for his penalty lapse. "At the end of the day it was all about three points for us. The lads were absolutely terrific and it was certainly a very eventful game with three missed penalties," said Parry. "I couldn`t watch the third. It was just amazing stuff. It was a stunning strike for our opening goal. It went in like an arrow and no goalkeeper was going to save that. "But our keeper made a great reaction save to keep us ahead early in the second half and it proved vital for us. As the game went on we got stronger and I was getting more comfortable. I always thought we would snatch a second goal. I`ve got to be happy with the outcome. We certainly needed that victory."
