Parry relieved after first away win

Tranmere boss Les Parry was delighted to have secured the first away victory of his tenure with a 1-0 success at Gillingham. Rovers captain Ian Thomas-Moore struck the only goal of the game to earn Rovers only their second away win of the season and leave the Gills without a win in 2010. Chances were few and far between in the first period with Thomas-Moore and Martin Sordell both flashing half chances wide for the visitors. Thomas-Moore then broke the deadlock on 68 minutes when he slid the ball in at the back post after Edds cross had been fired onto a post by Craig Curran. Parry said: "It was our first away win under me and its great, especially after the defeat to Oldham on Saturday. For the lads to come here and perform like that and thoroughly deserve their win is brilliant. "We kept our shape and because of that they didn't really hurt us. We were by far the better side and they only came close when a great strike hit the bar. "We had four or five chances where their keeper has made some great saves. I thought this was going to be one of those nights and it was going to end 0-0 or they would sneak a goal. It took a while for the ball to go in it was rattling around like a pinball machine but luckily Ian has finished it off."
