Parry happy to end bad run

Tranmere manager Les Parry was left content as his side ended a seven-match winless streak with a 1-0 home success over faltering Colchester. Enoch Showunmi scored the decisive goal after 53 minutes to keep Rovers three points ahead of the relegation zone. "The result was so important to us and it was also pleasing that we put in a half-decent performance," Parry said. "We have just come off a run from hell and the lads are a lot happier and so are the fans. "We weathered some dangerous moments late on which was a bit scary but overall I thought we deserved the three points. "We still need another three victories to be safe and I feel sure we can go on to move up the table through our own efforts."
