Tranmere boss Les Parry is thrilled to have signed strikers Lucas Akins and Adam McGurk on one-year contracts. Akins joins Rovers, subject to international clearance, following a successful week-long trial. The 21-year-old progressed through Huddersfield's youth system before making his league debut for the club in 2007. He then moved to Scottish Premier League side Hamilton before spending time on loan at Partick Thistle. McGurk, also 21, joined Rovers on trial three weeks ago and signed on a non-contract basis after impressing in a friendly against Liverpool. The Northern Ireland under-21 international is a product of the Aston Villa academy. Parry said: "I'd like to welcome both Lucas and Adam to the club. They've both done really well with us during their time here, have shown excellent attitude and ability and are bright prospects. "They are hungry young footballers who add to our attacking options and I'm delighted they have both agreed to join us."
