Parry hails `formidable' Goodison

Tranmere boss Les Parry has paid tribute to Ian Goodison after he committed his future to the club. Goodison last week signed a one-year extension to his contract, keeping him at Prenton Park until the end of the 2011/12 season. The Jamaica international joined Tranmere in February 2004 and has since made more than 290 appearances for the club. Parry told Tranmere Player: "The best ones to big him up would be the strikers in our division because I'm sure none of them like playing against him. "He's one of the most formidable centre halves in our division. He's probably not the biggest, he's probably not the heaviest, he's not the quickest, he probably isn't the best ball player but he is probably the best defender. "He's probably the best centre half we've had since I've been here. When he first came into the side he took a bit of settling down but since then he's one of the best."
