Parry delighted with Welsh show

Tranmere manager Les Parry was naturally delighted with his team's overall performance in the 4-1 win at Walsall. John Welsh grabbed a brace to lead Rovers to victory and leave Parry upbeat. He said: "It was an excellent team display by all 11 players and I would hate to pick out one as man of the match. It was a massive game. "We have still got a few players to come back from injury but I said to the players before the game that we needed a performance from the four senior pros in the side and I got it. "It was a great finish for the first goal by John Welsh. He hit it first time and his two goals in the match might have doubled his career total. "This is a very tight division and we are still in the bottom four but the gap between us and mid-table is probably now small. I am not a panicker. I didn't panic last season because I have confidence in my own ability."
