Parry bemoans `harsh' penalty

Tranmere manager Les Parry claimed his side had been hard done by after their relegation fears were reawakened by a 1-0 home defeat against fellow strugglers Notts County. The only goal came as Craig Westcarr converted a 42nd-minute penalty after Zoumana Bakayogo had fouled Jon Harley. The result brought an end to a run of nine straight losses for County and lifted the club out of the npower League One relegation places, while Rovers remain just six points clear of the drop zone. And Parry complained: "It was a harsh penalty decision. It was a massive decision. I looked straight at the linesman and he did not give anything. The referee did not have a good game at all. "The stats will favour us heavily but the important one is the 0-1 scoreline. I thought we played well for the whole 90 minutes without enjoying any luck at all. Their keeper pulled off three or four brilliant saves. "We had to take our chances and we did not. We found it very frustrating. They needed a win desperately and all credit to them for achieving it. It was a stop-start second half and we just could not find the necessary impact to find a vital goal."
