Tranmere boss Les Parry is confident his side can give Charlton a game at the weekend but still thinks the Addicks will be in the promotion shake-up at the end of the season.
The Londoners head to Merseyside on Saturday on the back of a mixed run of form which has seen them lose two of their last three league games.
Rovers lost 4-0 to Charlton at Prenton Park last season and Parry said: "I'm sure at the end of the season Charlton will be either in one of the automatic promotion places or there or thereabouts.
"We played them early last season and they took us to the cleaners.
"When we went to their place we played a little bit differently and we still play that way, so we should be prepared to face them and give them a good game."
