Nielsen gunning for action

Tranmere's on-loan goalkeeper Gunnar Nielsen cannot wait to get back to action. The Manchester City youngster has been unavailable due to an injury since the opening day of the season but returns to the squad on Saturday's trip to Exeter. Nielsen said: "I'm really excited about being back. I'm obviously disappointed to have been injured, I was really looking forward to signing here, playing games and helping the club push forward. "I don't think of myself as being injury prone so I'm surprised to have been this injured. But it's part of football and now I'm just looking to push the club forward. "When loan players get injured they go back to their clubs so I've been back at City. It has been tough but now hopefully I'm good to go. I came here to play games and prove myself but that hasn't been possible until now. My first aim is to get some games and do well for the club. "We've had some rough patches but lately we've had a few good results and some clean sheets so hopefully now it's onwards and upwards."
