Moore hails 'brilliant' Rovers

Rovers grabbed the only goal of Saturday's League One clash when Antony Kay neatly controlled an awkward bouncing ball on the edge of the box and, as the Town defence hesitated, planted a low shot past visiting goalkeeper Peter Brezovan in the 48th minute. Ian Goodison saw red in the 59th minute after bringing down goal-bound Simon Cox just outside the box, but the hosts battled bravely to hold on to all three points. A relieved Moore said: "The crowd really got behind us, especially after we went down to 10 men. It was nice to get the three points. It was a vital win for us. We needed it with some tough games coming up. "I thought Kay's goal deserved to win any game. The sending off was fair enough although it could easily have been a yellow card. An assistant referee made the decision. "But we grafted and worked hard when reduced in numbers. All the players did their job and it was a brilliant performance from them. Our keeper hardly had a save to make. We were due a break and we got one. If we continue to perform and battle like that we will not be far away."
