Moore bemoans late Iron leveller

A dramatic 88th-minute equaliser from skipper Cliff Byrne snatched the Iron a 1-1 draw and a top six place after Rovers had taken the lead through Craig Curran but then saw Gareth Edds dismissed in the 87th minute. "Football can be a cruel game. We certainly didn't deserve this," said Moore. "We were the better team in the first half, scored a goal and would have had another but for a terrific save by their keeper. "I don't know whether it was nerves, but we started to defend much too deeply in the second half and gave the ball away far too cheaply. "The sending off has really cost us. It was never a sending off offence and I don't even think it was a foul. But we had time to get ourselves organised to deal with three free-kick and we just didn't do that. "I'm proud of the way my team played and we've got to try and learn from this and come back stronger next season."
