Tranmere boss Les Parry has been boosted after Arnaud Mendy returned to the squad ahead of the FA Cup first-round tie at Bournemouth. The on-loan Derby midfielder was given permission to return to his native France for a few days for personal reasons but has since returned and has been told he is eligible to play for Rovers by his parent club. Parry is waiting on confirmation from Liverpool that on-loan goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi will be allowed to feature. Rovers' crippling injury list has begun to ease with Alan Mahon, Ash Taylor and Paul McLaren among still sidelined. The Cherries secured a 3-0 league victory at Prenton Park at the end of August but Parry said: "We've got to go there and perform."
