Mahon hits comeback trail

Tranmere midfielder Alan Mahon admits he has no target in mind for his comeback from injury. Mahon underwent knee surgery shortly after the end of last season and will miss the start of the coming campaign as he continues his rehabilitation. He told the club's official website: "My knee is feeling much better. At the moment I've not got a target date in mind, I'm just going to work as hard as I can to get back as soon as I can. "It's frustrating not being able to train with the rest of the lads and miss out on pre-season, but injuries are a part of football and you've just got to get on with it. "I can't wait to get back playing again but for now I'll just be guided by Les [Parry] and Steve [Walker] as to what I can do and when."
