Les not miserable

Tranmere manager Les Parry was relieved after his side finally clinched their first league win of the season - and is now looking for them to kick on. A debut goal from on-loan Derby man Arnaud Mendy just before the break was enough to beat Peterborough 1-0 at Prenton Park . "It was a great performance by a young side," said Parry. "A first league win was massive for us. "We are still getting up to speed and I'm sure the tempo will be even greater after we have had a bit more time together. "Our central defenders were unmovable and the whole defence stood firm. Peterborough are a good side and there will not be many times they will fail to score this season. "The victory should provide a huge confidence boost. We've beaten one of the best sides in the division and we are now looking forward to moving up the table."
