Tranmere defender Ian Goodison has signed a one-year extension to his contract, keeping him at Prenton Park until the end of the 2011/12 season. The Jamaica international joined Tranmere in February 2004 and has since made more than 290 appearances for the club. His new contract is subject to the extension of his work permit, and boss Les Parry said: "I'm delighted Ian has agreed his contract extension. "He's a very consistent performer, an excellent defender and someone who has become a firm fans' favourite during his time at the club. "He's one of the best defenders in League One and it is great news for the club that he will be here for another season." Goodison added: "I'm pleased to have signed the extension. I love playing for Tranmere and have enjoyed the last six years at the club."
