A superb free-kick from Aaron Cresswell earned Tranmere a point against Dagenham in a 2-2 draw. The clubs shared just a point between them going into the game, but, after a first half of persistent pressure and chances, John Still's Daggers made their superiority tell in the 52nd minute. Left-sided midfielder Peter Gain found space on his touchline and whipped an inviting cross into the middle of the area and it was headed in by Romain Vincelot, whose run from midfield was not picked up. Captain Mark Arber made it two on 71 minutes, with a driven volley at the back post after a Danny Green corner. Tranmere's Enoch Showumni gave his side hope on 78 minutes, with a fine, curling right-footed shot into the bottom corner past Tony Roberts as the visitors finally awoke from their slumber. Ten minutes of pressure followed and, in the 88th minute, Damien McCrory gave away a free-kick on the edge of the box, from which youth team product Cresswell unleashed an unstoppable hit into the top-left corner of Roberts' net to spark mass celebrations in the visitors' dugout.
