The Wales goalkeeper kept a total of 20 in the 2008/09 season and was one of six players honoured by the Football League, with a golden glove winner named in each division along with a golden boot equivalent. Coyne told the club's official website: "I'm obviously delighted to have won the award, it's great news for me and the club. "It's definitely an award for the whole team. The players in front of me defended really well this season, from the back four to the midfield and the strikers. "All credit to the team for keeping that many clean sheets."
