Class was the difference - Parry

Tranmere manager Les Parry was left to rue Lateef Elford-Alliyu`s penalty miss as Rovers crashed out of the Johnstone`s Paint Trophy in the Area semi-finals. Huddersfield`s Jordan Rhodes grabbed a brace to clinch a 2-0 triumph for the visitors and move them within one step of Wembley, although it could have been different had Alex Smithies not saved from the spot with the score at 1-0. Parry said: "A little bit of class was the difference between the sides. In the main we gave as good as we took but we found ourselves behind at half-time to a quality finish. "Obviously I was disappointed with the penalty miss. One of my senior players should have taken the spot-kick but no-one volunteered. "We missed a massive chance to get back into the tie. It would have lifted us and put pressure on them but you never know. We could have ended up losing 10-1 had we scored from it. "The lads are disappointed they have lost the chance of an appearance at Wembley. We are not used to losing three games on the bounce and we must stop the rot at Swindon on Saturday. Obviously we are feeling a bit down just now but it is my job to lift the players. It is all about knuckling down and working hard from now on."
