Boss bemoans poor performance

Les Parry was left bemoaning the performance of his Tranmere team as they were thumped 4-0 at Sheffield Wednesday. Tommy Miller scored twice while strikers Gary Madine and Neil Mellor chipped in with a goal apiece as the Owls inflicted Rovers` heaviest defeat of the season. Parry said: "It was the manner of the defeat that is hard to take as I don't think Sheffield Wednesday were all over us for 90 minutes. "We had a mad 15 minutes when we gifted them three goals and the back four struggled, particularly in the first half when the two lads up front for them caused us all sorts of problems. "For some unknown reason we tried to pass in little triangles which we can't do and that's why we came unstuck. "I can't say what I said at half-time but we were rubbish and the second half was much better, but yet still we conceded a poor breakaway goal at the end."
