Barnes questions Rovers mentality
Rovers were thumped 4-0 at home by Charlton on Saturday having lost 3-0 at Leeds the week previously.
Barnes, 45, has seen his side lose four of their opening five League One fixtures this term and has urged them to pick themselves up quickly.
"Do we believe we can play against the top teams? I don't think we do," said Barnes.
"Maybe the players don't believe they are good enough but I believe they are good enough.
"We know we've lost a lot of players, but the players who are here have to believe they can replace them."
