Zigic and 10m Bent top the bill for new Sunderland boss Steve Bruce

Steve Bruce wants to sign 6ft 8in Valencia striker Nikola Zigic and team him up with Darren Bent. Sunderland's new boss is ready to splash some of Ellis Short's substantial transfer kitty for the Serbian and then try to finalise a move for Tottenham's £10m-rated Bent. Hard-up Valencia are resigned to selling Zigic, 28, who has beenwatched by a host of Premier League clubs after he enjoyed a recentloan spell at Racing Santander where he scored 13 times in 19 games. Arsenal, Everton, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City have all kept tabs on him over the past three seasons.
