Ziegler heads for Sampdoria

Switzerland international Reto Ziegler has completed his permanent transfer from Tottenham to Sampdoria.

The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with Sampdoria, making 15 appearances for the Serie A side.

"I feel good at Sampdoria," Ziegler told the Genoa-based club's official website.

"This is the right club for me to improve as a player."

Ziegler moved to White Hart Lane from Grasshoppers three years ago but made only 35 appearances for the club.

He spent the first half of the 2005-06 campaign on loan with Hamburg, making nine appearances from the substitute's bench for the German Bundesliga side.

Zieger then moved to Wigan Athletic on loan for the rest of the season, starring in 13 games for the Latics.
