Woodgate backs Tottenham team-mate Bent to be a big hit for England

Darren Bent has been given the seal of approval by Tottenham Hotspur team-mate Jonathan Woodgate even though the striker missed a chance against Portsmouth earlier this year that manager Harry Redknapp said 'my missus would have scored.' Bent was called into the England squad in the wake of injuries to Emile Heskey, Carlton Cole and Peter Crouch sustained against Slovakia.  Redknapp prefers Bent to Russia international Roman Pavlyuchenko as Robbie Keane's strike-partner and Woodgate said: 'I said at the start of the season that Darren Bent will score goals and he will. He's a goalscorer and is forming a good partnership with Robbie. Late call-up: Darren Bent is back in Capello's England squad due to injuries 'I see him every day in training every day. When he's through one onone I'd put my house on him to score. I know for a fact that when hegets chances he'll put them away.'Everyone misses chances. He's the type of player who, if he misses one, will go and score another one.'That's what you have to be like as a forward, you must keep bouncingback. Darren is a top player. When Dimitar [Berbatov] and Robbie wereboth here he didn't get much of a look-in because they were playing sowell but when he plays he'll score goals.'
