Walker sorry after gas incident

Tottenham defender Kyle Walker admits he has fully learned his lesson after being pictured inhaling nitrous oxide.

Last week pictures emerged of Walker inhaling the legal but dangerous gas from a balloon in a nightclub.

The right-back admitted he had made a mistake before assuring Roy Hodgson and Andre Villas-Boas that he would stay away from the substance in the future.

Walker, 23, returned to action for Spurs in a 2-0 win against Norwich on Saturday and he now wants to draw a line under the matter.

"It's all part and parcel of the job. You just have to deal with it," Walker said.

"It has been a steep learning curve. I think people forget that I am young.

"What's done is done now and I'm looking forward to the rest of the season. It's onwards and upwards now."

Gylfi Sigurdsson scored twice against the Canaries, but it was £11.5million debutant Christian Eriksen who stole the show at White Hart Lane.

The Dane played a part in both goals and he proved to be the perfect link between midfield and lone striker Roberto Soldado.

With seven new signings in the squad there has been talk of Tottenham being title contenders this year, and Walker thinks the future is bright for the north London club despite the sale of Gareth Bale.
